You brought me back to life
              using coconuts and waffles -
      Simple things not known to work.
And I'm not sure if I thanked you,
          But it was there…
                                     Back in my mind.
The glee that comes from being caught
               On a hook
                        Sopping
       With syrup and creamy peanut butter,
              To be ignited,      
                          Excited…
It's about as sweet a way to say, "I love you"
                             As any gem, card or flower.
My budding energy was burned
                  On cat baths –
                                  That sweet tort'ring of pets;
                  On packing for tomorrow,
                                   To where you can't go.
                         Anything to divert attention
                                                …Waiting…
                                       for you to get home.
That puddle I was
             For all of yesterday though,
             It couldn't cohere
                     to much more than this cheesing
                                  (despite all the fur)
So that's just what I'll give,
             As I smile oh so silly,
                    Swing from your neck
                            and mention all that I did
                                            in your absence.
