Emotion's Commotion</u>

I feel a surge of emotion coming
        it's calling me from behind
               "Answer me," it says and,
                               "you must do, have to show me
                                 - don't keep me locked inside!"

I open my mouth but no words come out;
I open my eyes and let fear flow about.

Light'ning rays of thought,
                    come enter;
      Quickly strands of thinking
                                   enter-
          I feel them in my brain,
                       they're saying,
                "Open your mind now, please let us in.
                         We're on your side so, come on and let us in!"
                          - All at once I'm crying.

I open my mouth but not much comes out;
I open my eyes and the tears flow about.

I close my eyes...It's not helping!

Flashing bolts of thundering hate
        come knocking at my door.
  I answer it and all smiles disappear-
      "GO away!" I say, "Go away!
             I don't need you here no more!"

I feel a surge of emotion coming
       as I push it all aside.
             "Let us in!" They all beg and say,
                                  "You must do, have to show us
                                    - don't keep us blocked away!"

                                                                     ~K. Bratager: 03-24-1998
This is an OLD old song I wrote back in high school...March 24, 1998 to be exact - in Ms. Campbell's World History Class to be even more exact! I'm sure we've all been through this: fighting back tears, suppressing your anger, swallowing your giggles in math class...well, that's what this is about, wanting to express yourself on the inside, but trying not to.

*note: the preview has nothing to do with the song. In fact, that's a recent pic from Halloween '06 - no where near 1998, or March for that matter ;) I was the "Gossimer Ghost" & it's hard to tell, but my hair's a grey-blue...I ended up looking more like a corpse bride than just a regular ghost. Ah well.

Interestingly enough, I recognize some of the teenager-type descriptions. :XD: "Flashing bolts of thundering hate," for example. :giggle: Teh weather si mighty enuff! Not to poke fun, just something that amused me to identify with. :)

Also, I like how the poem makes an "E." You know, how some people (i.e., me, very often) make capital e's like a backwards 3? *grins* EMOTION! haha!
